The Brévedent campsite is located in the Pays d’Auge, a region steeped in tradition!

The Brévedent campsite has large pitches located around the lake and manor. The restaurant, three toilet blocks and service area for motorhomes blend in with traditional Norman buildings.

A destination to suit all tastes, as a couple or a family: Culture, History and Ecology.

We are all experiencing an upheaval that we could not have imagined last year … This global health crisis is destabilizing us and forcing us to rethink all our habits. However, this unprecedented episode encourages us to continue our actions sustainable and respectful of the environment.

Offering a Eco tourism is for us essential

Green and sustainable but high-end tourism!

Even if the “green” is less and less stereotyped as a person who does not wash and lives in a cabin on the edge of the forest, it is still sometimes not easy to associate ecology and comfort, and yet this is our motto…

Holidays are precious

After long months of winter, we dream of our holidays: sun, rest, entertainment, stroll, nature, encounter, music, discovery, reading, nap, end of day aperitif, sunset … In short, being away from your everyday life! And for many of us, holidays rhyme with comfort, we agree!

That is why we constantly think and rethink how we welcome you, in order to make your holiday this unforgettable moment.

Since the garden is a paradise for children, and habits change, the presence of an animator throughout the day is no longer appropriate.

Family events

In 2021, we will offer family activities, every day. These activities will no longer be organized by the animator of the kid’s club, but by local artists: creator of giant bubbles, specialist in ecology and biodiversity, make-up artist, cosmetics specialist for fun workshops…

The manor plays a key role at Le Brévedent!

Le Brévedent is one of the historic campsites belonging to the Les Castels chain and has always welcomed campers to the grounds of the Louis XVI hunting lodge.
During your stay, you’ll get the chance to have a drink at the bar on the ground floor of the manor, where you can discover the family’s ancestry in the period lounge, spend time with friends playing a board game or go to the baby-kitchen available 24/7 for families with young children.

The manor has its history!

During the Second World War, there were many German troops in our militarily strategic region. This went on for 4 years. The Pays d’Auge was not spared and the manor itself was also occupied.
Years later, Mrs Gurrey told campers that a British pilot dropped a shell on the fish lake in front of the manor a few seconds before he crash-landed.

A Family history !

The Marquis de Chabannes founded the Brévedent campsite in 1960 to restore the hunting lodge after the Second World War. It has been in the family for 4 generations. Geneviève Gurrey, the Marquis’s daughter, was the head of the family business for a few years, then Anne Bony-Gurrey, the Marquis’s granddaughter, took over. She gave it its rightful place as one of the most beautiful campsites in France, creating services within the site to make life easier for families.
Today Raphaël, the Marquis’s great-grandson, Jess and their children welcome tourists from all over Europe to spend their holidays in this place, steeped in history. Their priority is now ecology, sharing and music, but the founding values of hospitality and family live on.

The Brévedent philosophy: Brev’maculture

At the Brévedent campsite, Jess and Raphaël have come up with the concept of Brev’maculture. It’s a philosophy based on well-being, sharing and respect for others and the environment. Brev’maculture is an open access permaculture vegetable garden, 100% natural washing-up liquid in the toilet blocks, nature workshops and discovering wild plants along with open mikes, musical experiences and the chance to take a step back from our hectic lives.

At the beach or in the countryside, with your family or on your own, you’re sure to enjoy the many attractions that Normandy has to offer!

The Le Brévedent campsite is an excellent starting point for travelling all around Normandy. Le Brévedent is located on the border between the Eure and Calvados, 40 minutes from Caen and Le Havre, 1 hour from Rouen and from the landing beaches and 2 hours from Mont-Saint-Michel.

You’re looking for a mobile home to rent for the weekend. You want to visit Honfleur and have breakfast in the old harbour area while watching the painters who have set up their easels on the cobblestones. You want to continue your journey and stop off at the seaside resort of your choice to go for a swim at high tide. Le Brévedent is the perfect place to stay! You’ll get peace and quiet less than half an hour from the hustle and bustle of the Côte Fleurie. We recommend taking the country roads to discover our beautiful region, leading you to the seaside, passing through the traditional villages of Beaumont-en-Auge, with its timber-framed houses, Saint-Etienne-la-Thillaye and Tourgéville.

The reception rivals a tourist office. There you’ll find all the information you need and the team will be happy to help you plan the best couple or family holiday.

You can go on a 40-km tour of the Route du Cidre, passing through the beautiful Pays d’Auge villages. You’ll experience the hospitality of local producers in an authentic setting, travelling past flower meadows, manors and stud farms on the way.
You can take a day to go to the landing beaches, rediscover the key milestones of the D-Day landings and the battle of Normandy and salute the bravery of the soldiers who fought for our freedom. If you have the chance to visit around the 6th of June, commemorations take place all over the coast. They’re not to be missed.
Maybe you’ll choose an outdoor adventures day. The Suisse Normande area is the ideal place for leisure activities, climbing and canoeing.
Or you can go to the seaside resorts of Deauville-Trouville, Villers-sur-Mer, Houlgate – where numerous activities are offered for both children and adults.
And maybe, if you have time, you’ll stop by to visit our neighbours Jérôme and Françoise Spruytte in Saint-Philbert-des-Champs to buy the best Pont-l’Evêque cheese in Normandy, which they make with love.
Whatever you choose, you’ll always be happy to return to the beautiful valley of Le Brévedent, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to enjoy both the idyllic scenery and the services offered by the campsite, as simple as they are: the restaurant, the shop, the bar, etc. Holidays are also about relaxing on your pitch or on the terrace of your mobile home or furnished lodge tent and enjoying a great evening of music at the café.
