Vélodays

Vélodays is a first-of-its-kind event organised by the Département of Calvados from May 1st to June 1st 2025, celebrating cycling in all its forms through a month of free, festive events open to all. The aim of this first event is to promote soft mobility, discover the region and enjoy cycling with family and friends.

Three towns are hosting the Vélodays village, a rallying point for enthusiasts and the curious:

• Clécy – Sunday May 4th
• Isigny-sur-Mer – Sunday May 25th
• Ouistreham Riva-Bella – Sunday June 1st

Each village is open from 2pm to 6.30pm and offers:

• Supervised bike rides (5 to 7 km depending on the site), with a musical warm-up, food break, musical entertainment and souvenir photo radar.
• BMX freestyle and mountain bike trial shows.
• Educational workshops: road safety, bike repairs, adapted bikes, plastic recycling, personalised safety waistcoats.
• Fun activities: pedal carousels, sporting challenges, face painting for children, photo exhibitions on cycling culture in Calvados.

As well as the villages, more than 150 events are on offer throughout the region:

• Walks and bike rides.
• Guided tours and heritage discoveries.
• Cycling competitions and challenges.
• Workshops and demonstrations: repairs, safety, adapted bikes.
• Initiations for young and old.

Vélodays is an opportunity to highlight the benefits of cycling as an ecological, economical and healthy mode of transport. By taking part, you’re helping to promote environmentally-friendly mobility in Calvados.
