A destination for every taste, whether as a couple or with family: History, Culture and Ecology

Offering green tourism is essential for us…

We have all become aware of the impact of human activity on the environment. Even if, individually, we are not responsible for all climate disruptions, we can pay particular attention to the way we consume and live together within our territories. For many years, ethical and eco-citizen values have been an integral part of the tourism approach at Camping Le Brévedent. In particular, protecting biodiversity, respecting cultural diversity and preserving heritage play an essential role in our commitment.

Green and sustainable tourism, but high-end !

Combining ecology and comfort is not always easy. However, this is the motto of Camping Le Brévedent.

Holidays are precious

After the long winter months, we all dream of holidays: sunshine, rest, entertainment, walks, nature, encounters, music and discovery. In short, simple moments to reconnect and enjoy time away from everyday life. And for many of us, holidays also mean comfort — we completely agree! That is why we constantly think and rethink the way we welcome you. Our wish is to make your stay at Camping Le Brévedent a truly unforgettable experience.

Since the garden is a true paradise for children, and habits are changing, the presence of an activity leader throughout the day is no longer really appropriate. Children can therefore freely enjoy the garden and the surrounding nature.

Family entertainment

As part of a quality approach, activities are no longer supervised by a seasonal activity leader. However, local artists regularly come to the campsite and offer activities and workshops once a week during the months of July and August.

Our Story

The Manor plays a central role at Camping Le Brévedent.

Camping Le Brévedent is one of the historic campsites of the Les Castels network. For many years, it has welcomed campers within the grounds of the Louis XVI Hunting Pavilion, at the heart of the estate.

During your stay, you will surely have the opportunity to enjoy a drink at the bar located on the ground floor of the manor. You can also discover the ancestors of the family in the period lounge or visit the baby room, accessible 24 hours a day for families with young children.

The Manor has its own history !

During the Second World War, German troops were numerous in our region, which was strategically important from a military point of view.

This occupation lasted four years. The Pays d’Auge was not spared, and the Manor was also occupied.

Years later, Madam Gurrey would tell campers that a British pilot dropped a shell into the fishing pond in front of the Manor just seconds before making a forced landing.

A family story

The Marquis de Chabannes created Camping Le Brévedent in 1960 in order to restore the Hunting Pavilion after the Second World War.

Having remained in the family for four generations, the estate was first managed for several years by Geneviève Gurrey, the Marquis’s daughter.

Later, Anne Bony-Gurrey, the Marquis’s granddaughter, developed the activity and gave it its place among the most beautiful campsites in France by creating services designed to make life easier for families at the heart of the site.

The philosophy of Le Brévedent: Brev’maculture

At Camping Le Brévedent, Jess and Raphaël have imagined Brev’maculture.

It is a philosophy of well-being and sharing, based on respect for others and for the environment.

Brev’maculture means a permaculture vegetable garden open to everyone, 100% natural dishwashing liquid available in the sanitary areas, as well as nature workshops and wild plant discovery activities.

But it is also open stages, moments of music and the opportunity to step back for a while from our lives that sometimes move at a hundred miles an hour…

Camping Le Brévedent is an excellent starting point for exploring the whole of Normandy.

Located on the border between Eure and Calvados, Le Brévedent is 40 minutes from Caen and Le Havre, 1 hour from Rouen and the D-Day Landing Beaches, and about 2 hours from Mont-Saint-Michel.

Are you looking for a mobile home rental for the weekend?
Would you like to visit Honfleur, enjoy lunch around the Old Harbour while watching the painters who have set up their easels on the cobblestones, then continue your journey and stop at the seaside resort of your choice for a swim at high tide?

Camping Le Brévedent is the ideal place to put down your suitcase.
You will enjoy peace and quiet while being less than half an hour from the lively atmosphere of the Côte Fleurie.

We recommend taking the country roads, which will lead you through our beautiful region to the coast, passing through the typical villages of Beaumont-en-Auge, Saint-Étienne-la-Thillaye and Tourgéville.

The reception is worthy of a tourist office.

You will find all the information you need there, and the team will be delighted to advise you in order to help you plan your holiday as well as possible, whether as a couple or with family.

The Cider Route and the villages of the Pays d’Auge

You can set off on the 40 km Cider Route, through the villages of the Pays d’Auge.

Along this route, you will discover the warm welcome of local producers in an authentic setting, surrounded by flower-filled meadows, manor houses and stud farms.

The D-Day Landing Beaches in Normandy

Another day can be devoted to visiting the D-Day Landing Beaches.

You will rediscover the major stages of the D-Day landings and the Battle of Normandy, while paying tribute to the soldiers who fought for our freedom.

If you are lucky enough to be here around June 6th, commemorations take place all along the coast.

It is a powerful moment of history that should not be missed.

In any case, you will always be happy to return to the beautiful Brévedent valley, far from the hustle and bustle.

You can enjoy the idyllic landscape as well as the campsite’s facilities: the restaurant, the grocery shop or the Manor bar.
