La Berniéraise

La Berniéraise will take place on Saturday June 6th 2026, on the beach of Bernières-sur-Mer – Juno Beach (Calvados, Normandy). This nautical and commemorative event, organised as part of the D-Day Festival Normandy, pays tribute to the Canadian soldiers who landed on these beaches on 6 June 1944. Open to everyone, La Berniéraise brings together rowers, sailors, kayaks, paddleboards, light sailboats and walkers for a symbolic sail and walk towards the Maison des Canadiens. Combining a beach gathering, a collective arrival, moments of remembrance and a shared convivial moment, La Berniéraise embodies a solidary, commemorative and community-spirited atmosphere, blending history, regained freedom and seaside togetherness.
